2018 | newsok “Monarch to Rise in Oklahoma City’s Midtown”

The Monarch is a 4-story, 52,325 sf office building. It is the first phase of the master plan for infill developments within Midtown Oklahoma City. The building responds to the existing context of the city grid, adjacent two-story building heights, and vocabulary with the arcade, creating a harmonious and human-scale pedestrian experience. Higher floors are stepped back on an orthogonal grid with expansive glass, creating a distinct presence within the growing skyline.

The structure has a slab-on-grade, spread-footing design with steel columns and composite steel floors. The south and north arcades are painted steel framework with single-composite metal panel infill. Other exteriors are glazing with pre-finished standing-seam metal panels, pre-finished, perforated metal corrugated panels on steel frame, and cast stone veneer panels. The roof consists of a low-slope single-ply membrane over tapered insulation with internal drains.
